Medicare Unveils Quality Ratings for 2025 Health Plans

Read Time:36 Second

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released its quality assessments for Medicare health and drug plans for 2025. These evaluations offer insights into which major insurance providers, including CVS Health and UnitedHealth Group, might be eligible for performance-based bonuses in 2026.

CMS reports that 62% of Medicare Advantage plan members with prescription drug coverage are enrolled in plans rated four stars or higher. Furthermore, approximately 40% of all plans offered for 2025 have achieved a four-star rating or above.

These ratings play a critical role in helping beneficiaries choose optimal health coverage and determining which insurers will receive financial rewards for their performance. The assessment criteria include customer satisfaction, quality of care, and accessibility of services.
