The crew of Polaris Dawn comes back to Earth after a historic SpaceX mission

Read Time:39 Second

The crew of Polaris Dawn safely came back to Earth early Sunday morning, ending a unique journey that was paid for by private donations. It was Jared Isaacman, Scott “Kidd” Poteet, Sarah Gillis, and Anna Menon who were in the SpaceX Dragon ship when it touched down in the Gulf of Mexico at 3:30 AM ET.

Isaacman and Gillis did the first commercial spacewalk during the trip. Gillis and Menon also reached 870 miles from Earth, making them the farthest women to have flown in space. A successful test of Starlink transmission, which included a video of Gillis playing the violin in space, was also part of the trip.

This is a big step forward for business space travel, and many more are planned for the future.
