During a tense moment at a gathering in Glendale, Arizona, former head Donald Trump quickly took Justin Harris, head of the Arizona Police Association, off the stage. Things went wrong at the Desert Diamond Arena on Friday night, where Harris was on stage with Trump to support his bid for president in 2024.

Harris spoke for almost 10 minutes and used the time to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris for what she said about “reimagining” public safety. But the crowd got antsy and started screaming for Trump to take back the mic. As the crowd got antsier, Trump stepped in and told Harris, “You gotta go,” before taking back the stage.

Robert Kennedy Jr. spoke in support of Trump at the gathering, which was already very exciting. This made the crowd even more excited. Trump called Kennedy a “incredible champion” and announced plans to set up an independent panel to look into assassination attempts. He did this by referencing his own escape and promised to share all papers connected to the attempts to kill President John F. Kennedy.

In an angry speech, Trump also suggested a new policy to punish people who burn the American flag: they should have to go to jail for a year. The crowd cheered loudly when the idea was brought up.

Trump also went after Vice President Kamala Harris, sharply criticizing her policies on the border and accused her of letting the trafficking of 325,000 children into the United States.

The gathering showed how influential Trump is still and how determined he is to change national policies. This set the stage for a heated 2024 presidential race.
