Introducing KitKat “Breaks for Good”:

This month, in 27 European nations, the company’s newest product, “Breaks for Good,” will be available in stores. In May 2024, it will be released in the UK. A limited edition KitKat with 70% dark chocolate, also from the IAP, has been experimentally introduced in the British market in addition to the 100% sustainable cocoa bar.

Nestlé’s larger objectives are aided by the “Breaks for Good” program, which is a noteworthy step towards sustainability. Positive Impact and Expansion:

Since its launch, Nestlé’s income acceleration program has helped more than 10,000 households in Ivory Coast. In the upcoming year, it will extend to Ghana with the goal of assisting 30,000 people overall. The initiative intends to significantly alter the cocoa supply chain by reaching about 160,000 cocoa grower households worldwide by 2030.

Financial Incentives and Support:

Nestlé wants to establish a completely traceable cocoa supply chain through the IAP. For the first two years, participating families can get up to 500 euros yearly; after that, they can receive 250 euros annually. According to reports from Nestlé’s suppliers, the program’s cocoa growers’ families have been receiving incentives totaling almost two million euros since January 2022.

Cargill is a major supporter of Nestlé’s long-term objectives, which further bolsters the company’s commitment to sustainability. Cargill helps make Nestlé’s IAP successful by storing cocoa in its warehouse at the port of Hamburg.
