A routine police stop on the A55 near St Asaph took an unexpected turn on Monday morning, escalating into a spectacular chase and discovery. When a vehicle was reported for not having insurance, traffic cops tried to stop it, but things rapidly got out of hand.

In a live lane, the driver abandoned the car and ran away on foot. Officers investigating the van found what appeared to be a stolen jet ski inside. When more officers joined the search, they discovered a second vehicle nearby that contained five individuals and another suspected stolen jet ski. This was when the incident took an even more unexpected turn.

Three suspects were apprehended after a foot pursuit. The connection between the recovered items and later claims of a burglary from Anglesey involving the theft of two jet skis was confirmed.

HGC Dinbych Arfordirol ac Abergele / NWP Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele, HGC Conwy a Dinbych Wledig / NWP Conwy & Denbigh Rural, and the armed alliance were among the units that North Wales Police applauded for their combined efforts, which resulted in a successful resolution and prompt action.

“What started as a routine stop turned into a significant operation resulting in the recovery of two stolen vehicles and jet skis, and the apprehension of three suspects,” stated a spokesperson for North Wales Police. “This team effort showcases the dedication and effectiveness of our officers in responding to unexpected developments.”
